Home Economics Room

The Home Economics Centre was reconditioned and reopened on the 01st of January 2006, thus enabling all girls from the grades 6 to 11 to have daily sessions. The primary students are also privileged to use this room occasionally.

This room which faces the South, from where the school grounds can be seen, is any modern housewife’s dream! It is fully equipped with all the necessary utensils and electronic items from spoons to ovens. It can hold a class of 40-50 girls during one session and all girls are required to wear their head dresses, aprons and serviettes when entering for sessions.

The aim of having a Home Economics Centre is keeping with the idea that one day every girl will become a housewife or mother, thus being a responsible person, so we teach our girls the methods and techniques of cooking, sewing and using money efficiently for household chores.

The Home Economics Team comprises of Ms. Madonna Peiris, Ms. Wasana Cooray and Ms.Farhana.
