May Procession 2018
The annual May Procession of 2018 was held on the 31st of May 2018. The school was decorated with garlands and bouquets of flowers in tribute to Mother Mary.
The day’s proceedings began with the children assembling on the quadrangle according to their classes. The members of the Legion of Mary began recitation of the rosary, along with the hymns sung by the school choir; the children went in the procession around the school and finally to the school chapel. Lastly the chariot which was beautifully decorated with flowers was taken in procession to the chapel. The opportunity to bowing the head to Mother Mary was given to each and every student. The most important incident, crowning of the Lady, was done by the Head Prefect of the school, amidst the singing of hymns.
The procession was led by the Western Band which gave a rousing performance of hymns dedicated to our beloved Mother.
A particular effort was made to limit the amount of flowers and maximize instead the dry rations collected to aid those suffering from the floods. Parcels were collected individually, as well as from classes and grades. The items ranged from dry rations to sanitary necessities and water bottles.
