May Procession

The annual May Procession of 2017 which was scheduled to take place on the 31st of May, was postponed to the 7th of June because of the holidays given due to the disastrous situation in the country.

The school was decorated with garlands and bouquets of flowers to give honour to the Mother Lanka.

The day’s proceedings began with the children assembling on the quadrangle according to their classes. The members of the Legion of Mary began recitation of the rosary, along with the hymns sung by the school choir; the children went in the procession around the school and finally to the school chapel. The children were led by the western band of the school; and lastly the chariot which was beautifully decorated with flowers was taken in procession to the chapel. The opportunity to bowing the head to Mother Mary was given to each and every student. The most important incident, crowning of the Lady, was done by the Head Prefect of the school, amidst the singing of hymns.

On the other hand each class brought in offertory, which was in aid of the flood victims. This was piled up in order to be sent to the helpless people of our country.

As the proceedings of the day ended successfully, the admiration of the chariot was shown by the endless clicking of photographs with our dear Mother.
