Most Talented Pianist Of The Year Competition 2021

Organized by the Western Music Unit 



The ‘Most Talented Pianist of The Year’ competition is one of the most anticipated events in our school events calendar. The competition was founded by one of our past principals, Rev. Sr. Chandani Jayasuriya in 2006 and has since been successfully organized and held annually by the Western Music Unit of our School.

This competition provides a much-needed platform to showcase the musical creative talents our children has been gifted with and is actively participated by children form Grades 6 to 14.

This year’s set pieces for the competition were based on Marian Hymns.

This year the competition was held on the 22nd of November 2021, the feast day of  St. Cecilia, the Patron Saint of Music) at 5.00 p.m.; The entries were presented and the winners were announced via the online platform Microsoft Teams.

The judges for this year’s competition were: Mrs. Karmini Fernando, a past pupil of Holy Family Convent Col-4; who is currently the music teacher at Buddhist Ladies College, Col-07, Mrs. Romia Felix, a past pupil of St. Bridget’s Convent Col-07, a former music teacher at Good Shepherd’s Convent Kotahena.

There was a total of 44 participants.
