Selection to the National Debating Pool of Sri Lanka
Shavindi Pieris was selected to the national debating pool of Sri Lanka in September 2021. She applied to join the national debating pool by sending her CV to the Debaters’ Council, consisting of details of debates she had won and participated in and her speaker rank at inter-school tournaments following which she was shortlisted for the trials. The trials consisted of 2 rounds of debating on current social and political topics. Following this she was selected to join the pool.
