Familian Colours Night : A Celebration of Excellence
The much-awaited Familian Colours Night 2024 was held on 17th October 2025, from 3 PM onwards at Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya. The evening was a spectacular celebration of talent, dedication, and community spirit, honouring students, teachers, and coaches who have excelled in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities throughout the year.
The ceremony was graced by Ms. Minelle Fernandez, Senior Correspondent at AL Jazeera International News Agency and a proud Past Pupil of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya, as the chief guest. The event was presided over by the school principal, Rev. Sr. Charitha Thandalge, who welcomed the gathering and emphasised the importance of recognising hard work, perseverance, and talent.
Awards were presented to members of various clubs and unions, acknowledging their contributions and leadership throughout the year. Sports Colours were conferred on outstanding athletes, while recognition was also given to students who excelled at National and International Tournaments. The dedication of the school’s coaches and trainers was also celebrated, highlighting their crucial role in shaping the talents of the students.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Trixie Jayasuriya Memorial Award for the most outstanding student in sports. After careful deliberation among the nominees — Jessie Seniviratne, Dihini Dharmadasa, Sachika Abeypala, Tiara De Silva, and Annaya Norbet — the prestigious award was presented to Annaya Norbet, recognising her exceptional achievements and commitment to sports excellence.
Familian Colours Night 2025 was more than an awards ceremony; it was a vibrant celebration of talent, dedication, and the shared pride of the Holy Family Convent community. The evening concluded with joyous applause, photographs, and lasting memories, inspiring students and faculty alike to continue striving for excellence in every field.
