A Joyous Tribute to Our Blessed Mother – May Feast 2025 at Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya
After a month of heartfelt spiritual preparation through the daily recitation of the Rosary and melodious hymn practices dedicated to our beloved Mother Mary, the much-anticipated day of the May Feast finally arrived at Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya.
The entire school community came alive with excitement and reverence. Students and staff alike were seen lovingly adorning the school premises and corridors with pristine white flowers, symbolizing purity and devotion to Our Lady. However, the morning skies brought with them gentle showers, and all hearts turned in prayer, hoping for a pause in the rain to commence the outdoor procession.
Yet, in faith and trust in God’s divine plan, it was decided to proceed with the celebration indoors. The procession began from the college section, with the college Western Band leading the way, followed by the dedicated Legionaries. They moved solemnly through the corridors towards the primary section, where the Primary Western Band welcomed them with their own soulful hymns.
The entire school witnessed this graceful journey of devotion as the procession made its way back through the college corridors, finally reaching the beautifully decorated chapel — the spiritual heart of our school.
In a moving display of unity and reverence, students, teachers, minor and administrative staff all walked together in solemn procession. Each carried flowers which were lovingly offered at the altar in worship of our Blessed Mother.
The highlight of the ceremony, the traditional Crowning of Mother Mary, was carried out with deep reverence by the former and current Head Prefects — a powerful reminder of the legacy of faith and devotion that continues through generations at Holy Family Convent.
The May Feast of 2025 was a beautiful testament to the school’s enduring love for our Mother Mary. It was a day filled with grace, unity, and the shared joy of honoring the Queen of Heaven — rain or shine.
