REV. SR. CHANDANI JAYASURIYA
Rev. Sr. Chandani, a former Principal of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya and a
distinguished past pupil, is an inspiration to all. Born on January 18, 1963, she entered the
convent on September 30, 1980, embarking on a journey of faith and service.
Sr. Chandani’s dedication to education is evident in her career. As Principal of Holy Family
Convent – Bambalapitiya, she guided the school with compassion and wisdom, fostering a
nurturing environment for students to thrive. Her commitment to personal and professional
growth is reflected in her impressive academic achievements. She earned a B.A. degree from the
University of Peradeniya and a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Colombo.
Furthermore, she actively sought professional development through specialized training in
English Teacher Training, Counseling (at Paul IV Centre and St. Anselam’s Institute, Kent, UK),
and Theology on Religious Life at Heythrop College, UK.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Sr. Chandani has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities.
She was elected as a Counselor and subsequently as Provincial within her religious order,
showcasing her influence and commitment to serving others.
Sr. Chandani serves as a shining example of how HFC empowers its students to achieve great
things, both academically and personally. Her success story inspires current students to strive for
