Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya proudly congratulates our talented young chess players on their performance at the Colombo Zonal Individual Chess Tournament 2026, organized by the Schools’ Chess Association of Sri Lanka and held on 6th and 7th June 2026.

We are delighted to announce that two of our students have successfully qualified for the Western Province Chess Championship through their outstanding achievements:

Under-18 Girls – P. Shehaya Cooray (Grade 13 – Edexcel A2) -First Runner-Up

Under-12 Girls –Ginuki Inakshi Waisundara (Grade 7) – Merit Award

These achievements reflect the dedication, perseverance, and strategic thinking demonstrated by our students, as well as the guidance and support provided by their coaches and families.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all four students and wish them every success as they represent Holy Family Convent at the Western Province Chess Championship.
